Brand Story
A world-class fertility center that started as a small clinic
In 1967, the Maria Obstetrics and Gynecology, which began at the current location of the Maria Hospital's main branch in Sinseol-dong, is the foundation of the Maria Medical Foundation. The founding spirit of Maria Hospital, which did not hesitate to set out on long journeys early in the morning with an old medical bag for patients, has become the root of our foundation's medical principles and convictions. Even today, as it has grown into a world-class fertility center beyond being the undisputed leader in the field of fertility medicine in Korea, Maria Hospital continues to search for and research the best methods for the dream-like moments of patients who wish to create healthy and happy families. We aim to continue leaping into the future, inheriting the philosophy and heritage of the Maria Medical Foundation.

Our Solution

Differentiated fertility treatments at Maria Hospital

The goal of fertility treatment is not just pregnancy, but to build a healthy family. In order to protect your health and bring a healthy child into the world, Maria Hospital offers five differentiated treatments.

01No. 1 fertility hospital in Korea with the largest number of in vitro fertilization (IVF) cases

Maria Hospital is the No. 1 fertility hospital in Korea, accounting for 30% of all IVF treatments performed by fertility hospitals in Korea. We have established branches nationwide to ensure that patients can conveniently access our medical expertise close to their home. Through close coordination between branches, we provide optimal diagnoses for infertility issues specialized for each patient.

02The sole fertility hospital in Korea to apply an optimized culture media solution

While most fertility hospitals use a single type of culture solution, regardless of the grade and quality of the embryos, we have been relentlessly developing culture media solutions to steadily improve them. As a result, we have successfully formulated our own specialized culture media solution that has gained recognition for its excellence, which has been proven by the high pregnancy rate.

03Implementation of a time-lapse system to select the best embryos

The time-lapse system is an innovative device used to select embryos. In Korea, Maria Hospital was the first to achieve an IVF birth using a time-lapse system. The system records every developmental stage of embryos without exposing them outside the incubator before transfer, then uses a specialized program to select the best embryos. This advanced technology can help minimize the number of embryos transferred while improving the chance of pregnancy.

04Application of cryopreservation technology boasting 95% survival rate

Maria Hospital has been recording the highest oocyte survival rate in Korea at nearly 95% with its exceptional cryopreservation technology. The goal of cryopreservation at fertility centers is to freeze eggs properly and preserve them safely so that they can be thawed at the patient's request and the highest oocyte survival rate can be guaranteed for a higher chance of successful pregnancy. This principle forms the very foundation of fertility treatments offered by Maria Hospital.

05Suggestion of personalized treatments

IVM(In vitro maturation of immature oocytes) is a procedure that is mainly suggested to patients with polycystic syndrome, a condition characterized by the presence of 10 or more small follicles. It does not require ovulation induction injections intended to cause the egg to mature for extraction, as is the case with general IVF, and as a result, side effects of hormone injections, such as ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), can be prevented. The procedure is relatively affordable and simple, and the pregnancy rate is similar to that of general IVF.
